“American Flag” Program
Presented by Compatriot Thomas B. Green III of the Texas SAR, this “American Flag” DVD program is already well known across the country for its thoroughness and variety. Over the course of this program, Green explains almost three dozen flags, giving the context and historical significance of each flag. Green includes both regimental, state, and nationally recognized symbols of American history in his presentation. It is one of several successful collaborations between state-level societies, universities, metro governments, and Outreach Education producing significant national impact.
“The Articles of Association of 1774” Program
This is the amazing story of the first document of America and the founding fathers of the First Continental Congress who came together at Carpenter’s Hall, in Philadelphia and set a patriotic course of action which eventually led to the American Revolution. The “Articles of Association of 1774” DVD program was taped in March 2014 on the campus of the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky. Compatriot William Stone of the Alabama SAR presented the program to over 1,000 middle school students, the results of a grant given by the Steele-Reese Program, which aided in the funding of patriotic outreach education developed by the SAR’s partnership with the University of Louisville and the University of the Cumberlands. In addition to the program at the University of the Cumberlands, Stone has worked with various SAR members to help reveal the Articles of Association of 1774 to well over 25,000 students and to an additional 10,000 members of various patriotic, historical, and civic organizations over a timeframe of 16 months.
